If you have an incomplete exam submission for any of the online 2020 AP Exam administrations, you will have a final opportunity to test August 24–31. The schedule is below.
Who is eligible for August testing?
Only students with incomplete exams—students who started the exam but didn’t submit part or all of their exam responses, and didn’t successfully use the backup email submission option or retest—are eligible to test.
How will I know if I’m eligible?
We notified eligible students by email the week of July 27, and emailed your school’s AP coordinator and principal a list of eligible students.
What happens if I’m notified? Do I have to let the AP Program know whether I plan to take the August exam or not?
If you’re notified that you’re eligible, you’ll automatically receive an e-ticket two days before your exam. If you decide not to test, just ignore the e-ticket.
Important: e-tickets for these August exams will not be available in My AP—you must use the e-ticket you receive by email.
How should I prepare for my August exam?
Just like you did for your earlier exam:
- Go to Getting Ready for Exam Day to see 5 important steps to get ready.
- Visit Tips to Avoid Problems on Exam Day to head off some common issues.
- Review Submission Guidelines to understand how to submit exam responses.
- Sign in to the Exam Demo to practice taking the exam.
Will there be more testing dates?
No. There are no further 2020 exam opportunities.
What if the testing date conflicts with my class schedule?
Talk to your teacher and AP coordinator. We encourage schools to support student exam-taking.
August Exam Schedule
Below are the August testing dates for eligible students. Exams will be administered August 24–31, but note that there are no exams on Friday, August 28. Note also that some exams are scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern Time during this window.

Students in Arizona: Most of Arizona is on Mountain Standard Time, which is currently aligned to Pacific Time. Some areas of the state, including Navajo Nation, are on Mountain District Time. Be sure to check your local time.
Check in 30 minutes early: Use your e-ticket to check in to your online exam 30 minutes before start time. Make sure your device’s clock is right so you’re not late to your exam. Remember: you must use the e-ticket you receive by email; your e-ticket will not be available in My AP.
